Building a Personal Brand That Books Dream Travel Clients | Ali Raymer | The Luxe Leap
I joined Raylin Logan on The Luxe Leap to talk about the moment that changed everything for my business, and what it actually takes to build a brand people can't stop talking about.
What was my "luxe leap" moment?
Losing a major client in Cabo. I was on a familiarization trip when a well-known local influencer was looking for a travel advisor, and I thought I had it in the bag. She chose someone else whose brand simply matched her better. Instead of sulking, I went home and started building my own personal brand instead of relying on my agency's.
How did my personal story shape the brand I built?
I stopped taking on every random trip and leaned into what actually lit me up. Living in Florence for a month with my toddler after COVID turned me into "the Italy girl," and it became my number one bestseller because I invested real time and energy into that story.
What was the moment I knew my brand actually had momentum?
Getting a call a year later from that same Cabo client's assistant, wanting to book their family's trip to Europe. It was the ultimate full-circle proof that what I'd built after that rejection actually worked.
What's my honest advice for anyone about to take their own leap?
Prove the haters wrong and work your tail off. I made pennies on the hour for years, survived COVID with a newborn making almost nothing, and stayed disciplined in the small things because I genuinely loved it. If you're not willing to do the unglamorous work for free in the beginning, you're probably not as passionate as you think you are.
What's my one-word answer for what motivates me in business?
My kids. Everything I do is so they can see the world and grow up unafraid, cultured, and well-traveled.
